The Silver Ragdoll presents a striking appearance characterized by a shimmering, cool-toned coat. This color is genetically distinct, resulting from the presence of the Inhibitor gene (I) acting upon a base color. History of the Silver Ragdoll
The Silver color in Ragdolls is not part of the original foundation colors established by Ann Baker. Color and Appearance
Silver Ragdolls are distinguished by a clear, silvery overlay on their points and body. The Inhibitor gene removes the warm tones from the coat, leaving a cool, often sparkling appearance. Paw Pads and Nose Leather
The paw pads and nose leather of a Silver Ragdoll will reflect the underlying base color, but often appear slightly muted or cooler in tone due to the Inhibitor gene's effect. For example, a Silver Seal Ragdoll will have dark brown to black paw pads and nose leather, similar to a Seal, but potentially with a less intense pigment. A Silver Blue will have slate grey paw pads and nose leather, consistent with a Blue Ragdoll.
