Quick Facts
History of the Mitted Pattern
The Mitted pattern appeared early in the breed's development. Ann Baker's original cats included pointed Ragdolls with white spotting, and Mitted became one of the three classic patterns recognized in CFA and TICA. Judges value symmetrical mittens and a clean blaze when present. Cherubim Chocolate Mitted Ragdoll kitten
Temperament and Grooming
Mitted Ragdolls share the affectionate, relaxed temperament of the breed. Grooming is similar to other patterns—weekly brushing maintains the coat. Owners often note that the white mittens show dirt more easily, so keeping paws clean is part of routine care.
What Is a Mitted Ragdoll?
A Mitted Ragdoll combines dark points on the face, ears, tail, and legs with white mittens on the front paws, white back legs, and a white chin. Some also have a white belly stripe running from chin to tail. The pattern is distinct from Bicolor , which shows more extensive white, including an inverted "V" mask.
Colors in the Mitted Pattern
Every Ragdoll color can appear in Mitted form: Seal , Blue , Chocolate , Lilac , Red , Cream , Cinnamon , and Fawn .
Mitted vs. Other Patterns
Compared to a Colorpoint , Mitted adds white accents. Compared to a Bicolor , Mitted has less white, keeping the mask intact while Bicolor breaks it into a "V." Kashmir and Chantal, Queens
